FAQs
Find answers to commonly asked questions about our homeschool hybrid program.
The traditional homeschool method is an educational style in which the parent assumes full responsibility for teaching their child at home, which includes selecting appropriate curriculums, lesson planning, coordinating fieldtrips and outside activities, and maintaining all school records for state reporting requirements. A homeschool hybrid program with the resources and support to supplement their child’s home education with an in-person hybrid learning option. The Sower’s Academy partners with Christian, home school families by offering an enriching, yet flexible, 3-day per week school-style program led by qualified teachers for children in grades K-5. Hybrid school attendance is not mandatory, however, parents agree to pay tuition and are expected to continue curriculum lessons on non-meeting days (as needed) to meet desired student outcomes. Parents assume full responsibility for their child’s educational outcomes, however, parents have the benefit of an organized program to support and guide their child’s homeschool journey.

The goal of the program is to grow by an additional, consecutive grade level each school year until all twelve grades have been met. We will, unfortunately, not be going out of consecutive grade level order.
Tuition is $6,000 per student and covers on-campus instruction and the basic materials needed for enrichments and learning. Additionally, parents will have to pay out of pocket for curriculum, fieldtrips, and provide daily lunch and snack. For Step Up for Students Scholarship recipients, receipts can be submitted to the student’s EMA account for reimbursement as the school waits to become an approved provider.
Besides the heart and purpose of our program, the flexibility of our schedule, and the unwavering commitment to the Christian faith, we believe the quality of our instructors is what really sets our hybrid program apart. Most private Christian schools sorely underpay their staff and are not competitive with salaries; thereby losing the opportunity to hire and retain quality teaching staff. The Sower’s Academy prioritizes the salaries of our teaching staff to ensure our teachers are paid a full-time, living wage (above the national average), while providing them the time and flexibility to live full lives outside of the classroom. Happy teachers = happy students = happy families!
While the Sower’s Academy may serve students who have learning challenges, we do not provide accommodations or supports for students requiring an accommodation plan or academic or behavioral interventions. The Sower’s Academy is not equipped, nor are our teachers and staff, specifically trained in this area. Additionally, all students must be able to conduct themselves in the classroom without being a disruption and must be able to actively patriciate in class and complete assigned work. The Sower’s Academy will also request all students to complete an in-person screening with our staff to determine academic fit with in our program.
Yes, it is vital that all of our families and staff not only agree to our Statement of Faith, but regularly attend, or are in membership, at a local, evangelical Christian church that supports and aligns with the Sower’s Academy Statement of Faith. In order to ensure our families are likeminded and committed to the Christian faith, we do require a Church Reference Form to be completed by your local church leadership as part of the admissions application. If you are not currently involved or known by a local church and attending in-person services (not virtually),we recommend committing to a local body and reapplying to our program in a few months.
We’re so glad you asked and desire to be transparent in all of our efforts. This will be the first year the Sower’s Academy has operated, and with all new endeavors, there will undoubtedly be challenges and learning curves. We are also operating our program out of an older, established church building that was not originally built to house a school program. However, we believe God will provide our every need in the coming year, and homeschool families will have the unique opportunity to partner with experienced educators on building what we consider to be our dream homeschool hybrid program!
